Your text has a SlopScore. Same text, same hash.
slopGrade grades writing quality — filler versus dense — not who wrote it. Paste an article, a PR description, an About page : a SlopScore 0–100 and an A→F grade, sentence by sentence, from a public formula, with a receipt anyone can re-run. Put the same instrument in your pipeline and a pull request that does not hold fails the check, with the lines named.

Marginal cost of a grade — no model on the path
The question « was this written by AI ? » is over. The one that ages well is « is this slop ? » — generic, predictable, redundant filler that reads fine and says nothing. slopGrade answers it with arithmetic you can check : eight measured signals, a score whose contributions add up to the number, and a hash that proves it was not tuned by hand.
The same loop in the app, the API, and the CI check. No black-box model on the grade path.
Eight published signals on the text : Shannon entropy, compression redundancy, lexical diversity, burstiness, concreteness, capped clichés, nominalization, long-word jargon. Each one is a number you could compute yourself.
The signals combine into a SlopScore 0–100 and a letter A→F, with the contribution of every signal listed and every sentence highlighted. The receipt's contributions sum to the score — nothing hidden.
The grade ships with a reproducible hash. Same text, same formula version, same grade — in the app, over the API, or inside your CI. Re-run it by hand from the public recipe if you doubt it.
One formula, three places it is used — where the writing happens, where the code lands, and where the number has to be defended.
Paste any text at app.slopgrade.ai : score, grade, per-sentence highlighter, and the signal breakdown. History and trend per document ; a share card for the receipt.
A ready-to-copy check that fails a pull request when a file's slop crosses the threshold — and the Firewall, which fails an AI-written pull request that breaks tenant isolation. A quality gate in the pipeline, at zero marginal cost.
Every grade carries a receipt : the formula version, the per-signal contributions, and a hash. An editor, a reviewer, or an auditor re-runs it and gets the same number.
Built to be checked, not trusted on faith — and to reach the text where it is written.
Same text + formula version = same grade = same hash, every run. There is no model to retrain, so there is nothing to drift and nothing to argue with.
The recipe — signals, weights, caps — is published and served over the API. Reproduce any score by hand. A grader you cannot inspect is a vibe check.
The verdict names the sentences that dragged the score, not just the total — actionable for a writer, parseable for a rewrite loop.
A public API with a documented schema, an MCP server for agent workflows, and a browser extension for Docs, Notion, and LinkedIn. The grader goes where the writing happens.
One line in your workflow. A pull request above the slop threshold fails the check with the lines named ; too-short files never fail, D/F grades always do.
The grade is computed locally at $0, always. The Heisen cascade is an opt-in, paid escalation for the uncertain band or a deep grade — never always-on, never on the free path.
Each of these passes a casual read. slopGrade measures the failure directly, so a new variant trips the same signal — there is no phrase list to maintain.
Low-entropy prose — every next word is the expected one. It fills the page and moves nothing.
The same point restated three ways. Compression exposes it : a text that shrinks a lot said little.
« Leverage a robust, scalable methodology » — counted, capped, and named in the sentence where it sits.
Nominalized, long-word jargon standing in for a concrete claim. Concreteness is a measured signal, not a taste.
Uniform sentence length, no burst, no contrast — the texture of text nobody edited.
An AI-written pull request that describes itself well and breaks tenant isolation. The Firewall fails it in CI before a reviewer reads the description.

The GitHub check and the API key. Every pull request graded at merge time ; every document graded at publish time.
The browser extension for Docs, Notion, and LinkedIn, and the MCP server for agent workflows — the grade before the text leaves the page.
Writers who want a number instead of an opinion, and engineering teams merging code that a model wrote.
slopGrade shares the Maxor posture : deterministic math over black-box models, a public recipe over trust-us, a receipt on every verdict. It is the cleanest live consumer of the Heisen cascade — grounded locally first, escalated rarely — and the same discipline runs Heisen, MaxorConnect, TensorYard and HullSmith.

The grader is live and free to start at app.slopgrade.ai. When a team wants the gate across its repositories, or the whole thing hosted in Canada under one contract, that is what Maxor Technologies distributes — talk to us.
slopGrade is a deterministic writing-quality grader. Paste a text and it returns a SlopScore from 0 to 100 with an A→F grade, sentence by sentence, computed from a public formula of eight published signals. Every grade ships with a reproducible receipt : the same text and the same formula version always produce the same grade and the same hash.
No, and it does not try to. Slop is generic, predictable, redundant filler ; slopGrade measures quality, not provenance. A dense text written with a model grades well ; a hollow text written by hand grades badly. The question it answers is « is this slop ? », not « who wrote this ? ».
A ready-to-copy check for your pipeline. A pull request whose file crosses the slop threshold fails the check with the offending lines named ; a D or F grade always fails, a too-short file never does. The Firewall extends it to AI-written code : a pull request that breaks tenant isolation fails before a reviewer reads its description.
Yes. It is live and self-serve at app.slopgrade.ai — free to start, no card, magic-link sign-in — with a public API, an MCP server, a GitHub check and a browser extension for Docs, Notion and LinkedIn. Maxor Technologies distributes it in Canada for teams that want it rolled out and hosted here under one contract.
Never on the free path. The grade itself is computed locally at zero marginal cost with no model involved. The Heisen cascade is an opt-in, paid escalation for the uncertain band or a deep grade — the same two-brain invariant that runs the rest of the Maxor suite : ground locally first, escalate rarely, fail open to the deterministic result.
