Cookie policy
Last updated : May 27, 2026
This policy explains how maxor-tech.com uses cookies and similar storage. The short version : we use exactly one functional cookie to remember your language, and nothing for advertising, analytics, or tracking. It is part of our Privacy policy.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. « Similar technologies » include browser localStorage. They let a site remember small pieces of information between page loads or visits — for example, your language preference.
The cookies we use
We use a single, strictly-necessary functional cookie :
- Name : ui_locale.
- Purpose : remembers whether you chose English or Français, so the site renders in your language.
- Type : first-party, strictly necessary / functional.
- Duration : persists across visits until you change your language or clear your browser storage.
- Contents : just a language code (« en » or « fr ») — no identifier, no personal information.
We also use your browser's localStorage to remember that you dismissed the cookie notice (key : mx-cookie-ack), so we don't show it on every page. This stays on your device and is never sent to us.
What we do NOT use
We do not use :
- Advertising or marketing cookies.
- Cross-site or third-party tracking cookies.
- Analytics or behavioural-profiling cookies.
- Fingerprinting or any identifier that follows you across sites.
Because the only cookie we set is strictly necessary to make the site work in your language, no consent is legally required for it. We still show a short notice for transparency.
Third-party content
Decorative photography is served through our own image optimization, so your browser does not contact the photo provider directly. If we ever embed a third-party widget that sets its own cookies, we will update this policy first.
How to control cookies
You are always in control :
- You can delete the ui_locale cookie at any time in your browser settings — the site will simply ask for your language again.
- You can block cookies entirely in your browser ; the site will still load, but it won't remember your language between visits.
- Clearing your browser's site data also removes the cookie-notice acknowledgment, so the notice reappears.
Browser help pages : Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge all document how to view and clear cookies in their privacy settings.
Changes to this policy
If we add any new cookie or storage technology, we will update this policy and, where the law requires, ask for your consent before setting it. The « Last updated » date above reflects the current version.
